Think vintage railway posters – they’re probably the most iconic. Blocks of colour. You can skip the detail but accentuate the shadows, highlights and the structure of hills and shapes.
Looking at, for instance, Blencathra, pick 3 or 5
colours: highlights, midtones, shadows. Mix enough paint – it can
difficult to match exactly once you get started.
Think about the effect you’re after: fresh, clear colours for spring;
muted tones for a vintage look or perhaps a lively pop of colour more
reminiscent of pop art – the choice is yours.
I was pleased with my results. I’ve got it framed at home.
Enjoy!
